Nextbus - total sham?

We (the royal we) have a bone to pick. With the whom, you ask? With the robotic voice over at Nextbus

This writer had the misfortune not once, not twice, but THRICE-fold having a cellular phone call to the supposed GPS-thingy that is tracking EGR buses and when it asks for a location code, we dutifully punch it in and get bupkiss. If you can feel me, testify!

Funny, I've had nothing but good luck with NextBus. It's never let me down.

Well, i just tried it again over at the Powell IKEA stop. Approx 2:12 PM, it said "next bus in 8 minutes". When 2:20 rolled around, no bus. I called again at 2:23 and it said "6 minutes". It came at 2:33, after once doing nothing when the code was punched in. I'm not expecting fool proof accuracy, but why even PRETEND that there is an accurate system? I'd prefer the honesty of "Just wait and it will EVENTUALLY show up." That's all I expect from a free bus.
